South Valley Disposal & Recycling, Inc. honored Debbie Davis from Express Media Graphics, Inc. (EMG) at the Gilroy City Council April meeting. Davis and EMG, Inc. were awarded the "Business Recycler of The Year" award.
Davis has continually surpassed the county's standards for recycling and has developed numerous relationships with nonprofit organizations. Teachers throughout Santa Clara County have also benefited from her efforts, by way of donations to Resource Area for Teaching.
Davis noted in her acceptance speech, "All of the donations have no (business) value to us but are priceless to teachers on a limited budget. It is our goal to recycle or repurpose any material we can rather than add to our landfills."
