Voters in Hollister City Council District 5 might have two new choices come November after Councilwoman Monica Johnson recently announced she wouldn't run again.

Roy Iler, a lieutenant with the San Benito County Sheriff's Office, joins local architect and Hollister Planning Commissioner David Huboi in attempting to succeed Johnson.

Iler and Huboi, who announced a run shortly over a week ago, each are attempting to earn a first nod as an elected official.

The other districts' seats up for reelection are District 1, where Councilman Brad Pike has said he's unsure of another run, and District 2, where Mayor Doug Emerson has committed to a reelection effort.
