Police blotter: Mayhem in Hollister

CRIMINAL REPORTS

Runaway

Police took a report on Aug. 4 regarding a 13-year-old runaway foster child who had left at 7:45 p.m. The child was still missing as of Friday afternoon.

ARRESTS

Burglary

Two juveniles and one adult were arrested and booked into juvenile hall and the county jail on Friday after police identified them from descriptions given by the victim of an attempted burglary and conspiracy to commit a crime. The police report states that an adult knocked at the front door of a home on Fourth Street. When no one answered the two juveniles with him went into the back yard of the house and began looking for an entrance. The adult, still standing in front of the house, was then surprised when the front door opened. He fled and the occupant of the house, who suspected what was going on, ran to the back yard where she saw the two juveniles. The resident then contacted the Hollister Police Department and provided descriptions.

Mayhem

Police responded to a report of mayhem on Aug. 3 along the 1000 block of Memorial Drive. At the scene they found a victim with a large laceration on his lip. The victim was uncooperative, refusing to give any details about the incident.

Mayhem is a term used by police when an injury, brought about by an assault, is severe enough to cause permanent disfigurement.
