Authorities have charged Joseph B. Hudson on suspicion of inappropriately touching his students, while the investigation continues.

The district attorney's office has charged a San Juan School teacher alleging lewd or lascivious acts with three students in third grade, according to court documents.
Prosecutors this week charged Joseph B. Hudson, 58, with three counts of lewd or lascivious acts with a child under age 14, while the investigation continues by the San Benito County Sheriff's Office, authorities told the Free Lance.
Deputies arrested Hudson at his home in Hollister on May 14, last Thursday, after investigators had questioned him the prior day at school, Undersheriff Pat Turturici said. The sheriff's office recommended 30 counts of charges alleging lewd or lascivious acts, while the undersheriff noted there were nine suspected victims reported to prosecutors. The children involved are 8 and 9 years old, Turturici said.
Investigators suspect Hudson in the three cases for which he is being charged inappropriately touched a student on May 12, March 1 and Sept. 1, 2008, according to court documents.
The district attorney's office Monday charged Hudson on suspicion of the three counts, while Deputy District Attorney Patrick Palacios declined to comment as to whether more charges are possible.
Sheriff's deputies also cited a teacher at the school last week during Hudson's questioning for obstruction of justice. Turturici noted how "she was asked to leave during the interview and she refused to leave."
