A magnitude-3.1 earthquake hit near Tres Pinos today around 4 p.m., according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The quake occurred with an epicenter about 4 miles north of Tres Pinos and five miles east of Hollister, according to the USGS.
The earthquake struck at a depth of about 4.5 miles and happened at precisely 4:02 p.m.
