 By The Free Lance Staff

There were 20 San Benito County employees receiving certificates of appreciation this week for their years of service with the organization, while two other workers were recognized for retiring, one after 42 years on the job.

The worker recognized for retiring after 42 years - which had been the longest tenure among 450 or so county employees - was Tom Hain, a road maintenance employee in the public works department. After 25 years, meanwhile, accounting technician Barbara Lerma retired as well and was recognized with Hain and the other employees at Tuesday's board of supervisors meeting.

The 20 county employees recognized for their service this week include the following:

For 35 years of service: Josephine Gallegos

For 30 years: Martha Vasquez and Teresa Porcello

For 25 years: Jose Santos and Kathy Postigo

For 20 years: Stacey Watson, Michael Watson, Robert Scattini, Armon Nazemi, Judith Diaz, Daniel L. Coughlin, Raquel Casa-Escobar and Norma Alexandrez

For 15 years: Janet Slibsager, Laura Schipper, Shirley Murphy, Shawna Janic, Diana Gutierrez, Alice Gonzales and Annamarie Anderson
