Last year's Miss Hollister Rally sounds off
Dear Editor,
I was told that there would be no 2008 Miss Hollister Rally contest because neither the promoter nor the rally committee organized it. I was further told that the promoter, Seth Doulton, had been waiting for me to contact him to get the contest going. I would have been more than happy to organize this year's contest had I known that I was expected to organize the event. I had never met Seth Doulton, nor did I have his contact information until one month before the this year's rally.
During last year's Miss Hollister Rally contest, the promoter was not involved at all with any of the contestants and to suggest (through his spokesperson, Bri Rodriguez who I have never met nor heard of her until last week's article was published) that he did not want to deal with us, we were difficult to keep under control and "ruthless" is slanderous and I feel like my character is being attacked. I spent a great amount of time preparing last year on the Miss Hollister Rally contest, which included a choreographed dance routine (not a strip tease) to a very popular old song. I have studied classical ballet for 20 years and I formerly taught children dance for two years at Laura's Dance Academy (Now West Coast Dance FX).
Through the year I have worked with the following local charities.
No. 1: Day of Beauty for the Emmaus House (Along with other stylists from Attitudes & Images where I work).
No. 2: Volunteered to sign T-shirts, help with the raffle and participate in the Saddle Horse Parade for the San Benito County Chamber of Commerce.
No. 3: Volunteered at Chamberlain's Children Center booth.
Just recently, Seth Doulton has visited my place of business and presented himself in a friendly fashion. I suggest (and expect) that he apologize for Horse Power Promotions' offensive remarks. Not only am I offended, I'm quite sure my fellow participants are as well.
