Resident touts an 'exciting affair' at 60th Hollister High reunion
Dear Editor:
On July 26, 2008 I attended my 60th high school reunion (Hollister HIgh) at San Juan Oaks Golf Club. It was an exciting affair made possible by the hard work of three wonderful people are Charlotte Schmidt Tranberg, Ruth Holthouse Cunningham and Jim Cunningham. Classmates came from near and far.
After a lot of visiting and a good meal we were entertained by Phil Hudner and Dot Schiocetti on the piano with wonderful music from our era - "the 40's."
Then Martha Bacon MIller entertained us with the important events that happened during our high school years. Remember, World War II was raging. We were all very patriotic what with rationing of gas, food, tires and all the essentials. We collected paper and tried to do our part for the war effort. Hollister High produced some terrific people and continues to do so.
Thank you Punkie, Ruthie and Jim. None of us will ever forget this wonderful, once-in-a-lifetime reunion.

Reader says other pictures should have warnings if 'Mama Mia' has one
Dear Editor
I read recently the print ad for "Mama Mia" warning "this film contains depictions of tobbacco consumption." My question is - where are the warnings depicting the violence, horror and moral decay that saturates our theaters today in almost every film and effecting mostly the young mind? "Mama Mia" is a happy, joyous, humorous and exciting experience proven by the people who see it again and again. Let's see more of this quality ... please!
