Two plots of land on Monterey Road in Morgan Hill that have become an eyesore because they are littered with trash and commonly used by neighbors to host barbecues despite being fenced off. The plots are owned by a Hollister couple who say the cleanup is a big project, but that they will tackle it soon.

A Hollister couple that purchased two parcels of land west of Monterey Road at Bisceglia Avenue in Morgan Hill is actively responding to a courtesy notice from the city to clean it up.

Evelyn Dincer, who with her husband bought the two parcels zoned residential-commercial two months ago, said "it's going to be cleaned in the very near future."

The parcels are located at 16780 Monterey Road, according to the Santa Clara County Assessor's Web site.

The recent rains have delayed the cleanup, both Dincer and Morgan Hill Code Enforcement Officer John Amos said. They also said they were communicating about cleaning up the vacant land where a fallen tree and debris have accumulated.

Tenants of the apartment building at 30 Bisceglia Avenue just west of the property have been barbecuing there despite a surrounding fence, Dincer said.

Dincer said she and her husband were talking to architects about developing the land into a mixed-use property, possibly apartments, retail or office.

"It's a big project to take on," Dincer said. "It need a lot of thinking."
