    San Andreas Graduation Address
    Jun 12, 2007

Hello and good afternoon. I would like to welcome all of the parents, friends, and faculty to this graduation ceremony.

Today, as I look at the faces of my fellow classmates, I notice a distinct difference. Four years ago, when we all started high school, we came in with a child-like immaturity and innocence. Now, I no longer see any kids, teenagers, boys or girls. I see only men and women, who through tough experiences and their continuous hard work and dedication, have made it to this moment.

Fellow classmates, savor this moment for it is yours. The feeling of success that you feel today, let it guide you through life and lead you to what I refer to as the "American Dream." To many different people it could mean many different things. To me, the short, simple definition of it is to build a life of hard work and honest money. So long as you strive to reach for the stars and through hard work and determination achieve what you are capable of, you will be a part of the "American Dream."

I am proud of all of you. People throughout our lives have seen most of us as failures or misfits. But if they could see us now, they would see that you cannot judge a book by its cover. Neither can you judge a man (or woman) by anything but the content of their character.

Parents, look at your son or daughter and know that you were a big part of them being here. Thank you for the undying faith in their education.

When we leave this building, look around. Each one of our classmates represents a memory, a laugh and a friend. Don't ever forget the people you met at San Andreas. Let these friendships last forever. They are what make us human: The power to care for another's well being.

To conclude my speech I would like to say I miss you all, and God bless. Also, please don't forget the men and women of the United States Army. Some of you are getting ready to embark on that journey. Don't be scared. Be proud, because you are already heroes.

    Congratulations class of 2007!
